Trade Careers are Here To Stay!

Congratulations to this years new graduates! Now the real fun begins!

Trade careers are becoming more popular now more than ever. Our typical idea of what the post-secondary path to college looks like, is changing.. and rapidly! If you have a student/ graduate interested in pursuing a career in the automotive industry, here are some great options in Maine.

Students still in high school, the United Technologies Center in Bangor offers 3 Automotive Programs that participate with the surrounding high schools in (Bangor,Brewer,Central, Hampden Academy,Hermon,Old Town and Orono). This is seriously such a great hands-on program that will help you form the foundational skill sets needed for this industry. On the flip side, by enrolling in a UTC program whether its automotive, plumbing, welding, health occupations, culinary, electrical etc. it can also help you decide if this is something you don't want to explore, which can be just as valuable saving you time, money and heartache.

For Post secondary education in the automotive field, here are a couple in Maine! 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 programs available at Eastern , Southern, Central and Northern Maine Community College. 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿 available at Northern Maine Community College. You can also work under someone as an 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 in many trade fields.

Remember, there is no "perfect way" or the "right way" to pursue your interests. As long as you are staying true to what you want, find value in what you do, and never stop learning, you will do great.

Heck, I'm 38 years old and I'm still learning new things everyday! PS: Throwing in a couple business management courses wouldn't hurt yah either!
